President Buhari and the theory crippling of APC
The opposition party has refused to even constitute opposition against President Buhari. In the media right now, his own party members and chieftains are the ones talking tough against him and calling his bluff.
The Kaduna state governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, is at the forefront condemning President Buhari and his policy on the new naira notes. He was among the three governors who took the matter to the Supreme Court.
He has also accused the president of putting himself above the law. It is really surprising that El-Rufai, who has always revered Buhari, will all of a sudden become a critic of the president.
The Kaduna state governor has also said that the old naira notes are still valid in Kaduna state. The diminutive governor has strongly opposed the president and said some unnamed saboteurs in the presidency are working against the All Progressives Congress candidate.
The theory of crippling APC ahead of the general elections is rife both in the northern region, where the party is more popular, and in the southern region, where the presidential candidate comes from. Mallam Nasir El-Rufai isn’t the only one projecting the theory.
Mr. Umar Ganduje specifically said that President Muhammadu Buhari wants to kill the APC before he leaves. Whereas the All Progressives Congress was the platform that made the president actualize his bid to lead the country.
He has also sternly stood against the ban against the old naira notes. He said he considered the policy as aimed at crippling the ruling party ahead of the election.
What happens if the APC is finally crippled? Does the president want the fall of the party? What could have been his reason for that?
