Wike Renews Hostility with Atiku

Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike renews hostility with Atiku Abubakar, who is flying the flag of the PDP in the 2023 presidential election. Mr. Wike drew a staggering battle line with the ex president shortly after the primary election.

The presidential campaign council of the PDP has accused Wike of working with the All Progressives Congress and Bola Tinubu. Recall that Wike is leading four other aggrieved governors of the party.

Wike felt bad and perhaps cheated after the primary election. He has since argued that the national chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu step down. He said both the chairman and the presidential candidate can’t come from the same region.

This has made him and the other governors to openly opposed Atiku Abubakar even though the Rivers State governor has yet to announced his anointed candidate for the office of the president.

The PCC Director General Dr. Abiye Sekibo, a former minister has written a letter to accuse the Rivers State governor of sabotaging the PDP and its candidate. Mr. Wike has withdrawn the approval for the use of the stadium.

The DG stated that the governor didn’t allow the PDP to use the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium and at the same time Wike has directed the commissioners, local government chairmen and other top echelons of the party to work for Bola Tinubu.

With this Wike renews hostility with Atiku ahead of the general elections. Mr. Wike has replied to the accusations by sending a letter to the Sokoto state governor Aminu Tambuwal.

The purported withdrawal of approval wouldn’t have been an issue. Mr Wike through the state government has approved the venue to APC candidates for use.

The PCC Director General has now hitherto accused Nyesom Wike of working against the party and Atiku.
