Atiku Abubakar in Sokoto State
Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Ifeanyi Okowa, the PDP’s presidential and vice presidential candidate respectively are in Sokoto State today.
The campaign train of Atiku has left Zamfara State in northwest geopolitical zone for Sokoto state, which shares some boundaries with Sokoto.
Atiku Abubakar is looking forward to taking over from Muhammadu Buhari and he is using the platform of the People’s Democratic Party.
It wouldn’t be the first time the former ex president would jostle for the top job in the country. However, all his efforts so far have failed woefully.
He was at the palace of the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Mohammed Sa’ad Abubakar III. He thanked the monarch for welcoming, counselling and for giving him a book.
The former vice president didn’t give details of the book. Meanwhile, the Sokoto state governor, Aminu Tambuwal was also in the palace with the presidential candidate and his team.
Tambuwal stepped down for the ex vice president on the heel of the primary election that produced Atiku Abubakar.
Of course Tambuwal was at the palace because of Atiku in the northwestern state for campaign.
