English Premier League: 2 top games today

0

The English Premier League returns after only few days. Some matches were played in the mid week. Tottenham Hotspur fell once again to Manchester City just some days after the team lost at home to English Premier League leaders, Arsenal.

In a match that will decide how long Arsenal can move this season, Manchester United will face the gunners in a highly decisive game. The London team will be at the Emirate stadium to welcome the Red Devils who have had a good run of unbeaten in as several matches as possible.

Eric Ten Hag’s Manchester United has rapidly improved since the departure of controversial superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. Despite its horrible performance then, Manchester United was able to beat Arsenal in the first leg. The visitors (this time around) will want to replicate the same results then.

However, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal would want to prove themselves as a serious contender. Arsenal have lost only one match in the English Premier League this season. A victory against Manchester United will enable them to maintain their perfect lead over others in the league.

On Sunday, two struggling top teams would meet. It’s not rosy for both Liverpool and Chelsea this season. The two sides are at the middle of the table below underrated Fulham, Brighton and Newcastle United.

Chelsea under Harry Potter has been awful partly due to a number of injuries and the expertise of the former Brighton coach. A victory over London team Crystal Palace may boost the morale of Chelsea while the humiliating loss at American Express stadium could dampen Liverpool’s.

They will both meet on Saturday and if Chelsea wins, it will leave the middle of the table and move up. A loss can send Liverpool further below the English Premier League table.

Football enthusiasts will have lots of fun over the weekend as four top teams slug it out in two crucial games that can determine who wins the league or which coach will have more pressure (from both owners and fans).

Eric Ten Hag will want to prove that his team’s victory over Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City wasn’t a fluke. Likewise Mikel Arteta will want to show that Arsenal really means the business of winning the league this season.

Despite lots of reinforcement, Liverpool’s performance has been below average. The team has new intakes including Cody Gakpo, a Dutch, Darwin Nunez, a Uruguayan, to mention but a few. Yet Liverpool has not been spectacular at all.

The same thing is more…or less… applicable to Chelsea. The Blues are seriously lagging behind even though the new owners have made so much commitment to the team to make it compete to win trophies. Despite all the new signings, Chelsea has not been doing well.

It will surely be interesting when the Reds host the Blues at the Anfield tomorrow in the afternoon as two coaches and teams struggle for their jobs and relevance.
