How Brighton can cope without Trossard remains one of the biggest posers for the team which has become dreaded not only to the “small” teams, but also to the traditionally top 5.
When Brighton drew Liverpool at Anfield earlier this season, the Belgian winger scored a hat trick. Issues began to trail his presence at the club shortly after the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup. The coach openly made some remarks about him that showed he was no longer a member of the team.
Brighton can of course shrug off the departure of its key player to Arsenal. It might not even take a long time for the club to recover and move on.
There are pieces of evidence to show that the departure of a particular player doesn’t in any way upset or slow down the pace of the team. Towards the commencement of the 2022/23 season, Brighton sold two top players including Cucurella, who joined Chelsea. Chelsea didn’t stop at that.
The London club fired its coach Thomas Tuchel and employed Harry Potter from Brighton. That should have destabilized Brighton really. But it didn’t appear to.
As if that was not enough, Tottenham also took Bissouma from the club. One would have expected Brighton to struggle with the likes of relegating teams Southampton, Nottingham Forest, Everton and Leeds United.
Lallana, a former Liverpool star has reacted to the movement of Trossard to Arsenal. He believed that the Belgian was not part of the last three big wins. As a matter of fact, the team won’t feel his absence.
