Dotun Babayemi warns PDP leadership after the factional primaries in Osun State. He was one of the contenders for the ticket of the party. Osun State gubernatorial election holds in July.
The top politician, who joined the PDP about two years ago, won the factional primary at the WOCDIF Event Center in the state capital. Meanwhile, there was another primary in the same Osogbo.
Babayemi, in a post on Facebook, warned the leadership of the party to be “cautious in the manner and ways it is handling the affairs of the party in the state”.
He said that his warning became necessary if the People’s Democratic Party actually wants to win the July gubernatorial election. He made a statement in Osogbo to call on the national PDP chairman Iyorchia Ayu.
Babayemi enjoyed the support of the PDP Elders Forum in the state. Former governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Chief Olu Alabi, Chief Shuaib Oyedokun, Tajudeen Oladipo, Fatai Akinbade were available at WOCDIF Event Center.
He warned that the PDP needs to put its house in order. He argued that the Osun State people are tired of the APC government. This has actually been one of the core campaign of Dotun Babayemi.
Mr. Ademola Adeleke, a former senator, had won the other primary in a landslide. He was able to beat other candidates convincingly. He didn’t enjoy the backup of the elders unlike his archival, Dotun Babayemi.
Yet Mr. Ademola Adeleke enjoyed the recognition of the National Working Committee. The NWC sent representatives to conduct the other primary at Osogbo stadium.
The prince from Gbongan averred that if the PDP is really desirous of ruling Osun State, his emergence as the PDP candidate should be recognized.
He echoed that the hide and seek should stop immediately. Mr. Babayemi had claimed that his emergence was authentic. Meanwhile, there is silence in his camp.
Therefore, Babayemi warns PDP leadership against upturning his victory.
