Manchester derby: how United can dash rival’s hope

0

Another Manchester derby holds tomorrow. The biggest match in the city would take place, and it tends to determine a lot in the English Premier League this season.

Manchester United can truncate the chances of its local rivals in the league this season. The clash between the two can open a wider way for another team to clinch the league.

Manchester City, the defending champions, lead the table with three points. Closely behind them are Liverpool. The Reds want to lift the English Premier League. But there are three points separating them and City.

Liverpool have 63 points if they finally beat West Ham United. Both Manchester City and Liverpool Football Club have played 27 games. The EPL leaders play their 28th tomorrow.

If Manchester United beat the rivals in the Manchester derby, there will be an avenue for Liverpool Football Club. The Reds would just need to win their own 28th game to close the gap once and for all.

Manchester City dropped points against Tottenham two weeks ago. The London team scored three times to deal a devastating blow against Manchester City.

Manchester City went on to beat Everton Football Club in a controversial encounter. There was a heavy criticism against the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).

Ralf Rangnick’s Manchester United are fourth on the EPL log. They have made 47 points from 27 games. The struggling Manchester United won’t want to drop more points.

Since it is a derby, no team can assuredly say it will win the crucial match. That means the written-off Manchester United can put up a very good fight.

Pep Guardiola will feel more pressure as Liverpool closes in on. A defeat in the derby can dash the EPL hope. He will want to lead Manchester City to clinch the league back to back again.
