Some players have put their names on the record through the assists they had provided in the top competition.
Cristiano Ronaldo, the maverick player in English Manchester United leads the pack of players.
The Portuguese international has made record 42 assists in the competition.
He played for Portugal’s Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus.
He returned to Manchester United earlier this season. He won the coveted UEFA Champions League five times. One with his new club, Manchester United and four with Spanish Real Madrid.
Lionel Messi, his archival, follows him in term of number of assists in the competition. The Argentine has made 36 assists so far in the competition to be behind Cristiano Ronaldo.
Current teammate in Paris Saint Germain, Angel Di Maria, immediately follows Lionel Messi on the log.
The former Real Madrid player has provided 35 assists, one short of Messi’s number of assists.
Angle Di Maria had played for Manchester United, Madrid and he is currently in PSG.
The Welsh international, Ryan Giggs, spent most of his football career in Manchester United.
And he did fantastically well for the English Club. He made 31 assists in the elite competition.
Immediately after Giggs are former Barcelona FC star Xavi Hernandez. The Spaniard spent virtually his whole career with the Catalonian club, Barcelona.
He made 30 assists until he hanged boots. He currently leads his former club as a coach.
Neymar Jr, the Brazilian, who plays for PSG is on the same level with Xavi Hernandez. Neymar is one of the highly rated players in the sports.
He has had 30 assists as well. The Brazilian has opportunity to overtake Xavi Hernandez.
