Aregbesola’s faction reacts to Osun APC primary

The Aregbesola’s faction has reacted to the Osun State APC primary election. The former governor, Rauf Aregbesola, has a faction loyal to him in the state.

The camp has reacted by condemning the exercise which held under the supervision of Mr. Abdulrazak Abdulrahman, Kwara State governor. The committee has commended the peaceful conduct of the programme.

Aregbesola’s faction released a statement through its spokesperson, Mr. Abiodun Agboola. The faction lampooned the electoral committee of the party for lacking credibility and fairness.

Aregbesola has strongly opposed Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola for the second term. And the interior minister chose former SSG Moshood Adeoti to clinch the ticket.

Earlier results show Oyetola leading with a very wide margin. But Aregbesola’s faction called the exercise a sham which was done to favour Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola, the incumbent governor.

Part of the information reads, “Verified information from the agents of Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, our governorship aspirant, has it that there are no record and result sheets in any of the 332 wards of the state.”

The faction argued that it was necessary to inform the general public of the irregularities in the exercise.

“It is necessary and important to inform the general public and Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq led Osun APC Primary Election Committee of the ongoing irregularities in the conduct of the primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State of Osun.”

The faction has not said whether or not it will accept the results of the primary election. Adegboyega Oyetola has said that he was sure of victory in the primary election.

The winner of the election would face whoever wins the PDP’s primary election scheduled to hold very soon.

Mr. Moshood Adeoti ran for the Bola Ige House in 2018.

He used the Action Democratic Party and he came far behind the incumbent governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, who is seeking another mandate from Osun State electorate.
