Osun APC primary: Oyetola wins Ayedaade ward 4

0

Governor Oyetola has won ward 4 in Ayedaade Local Government Area in the ongoing APC primary election in the state. The incumbent governor, who is seeking another term recorded a landslide victory.

Ward 4, the largest in Ayedaade Local Government Area, trooped out to vote at St. Paul’s Primary School, Gbongan. The governor scored 438 votes to steer clear of his main opponent, Moshood Adeoti.

The election had become a rivalry battle between the interior minister Rauf Aregbesola and Adegboyega Oyetola. They have both been at loggerheads over the party affairs.

Rauf Aregbesola had openly declared his support for a former Secretary to the State Government Moshood Adeoti. He levelled allegations against governor Oyetola.

Despite all entreaties, the former governor, Aregbesola, decided to look away and snub his successor in office. He went on to canvas against Oyetola.

But some results that have come in so far show how Oyetola is massively voted for by the party faithful across the state including Ayedaade Local Government Area.

Moshood Adeoti, the ex SSG, scored paltry 58 votes to come behind the governor. The APC primary can provide Oyetola opportunity to lead the state for four more years.

More results to come in soon.
