The primary is one of the most anticipated in the country. This is because the crisis in Osun State APC has involved a presidential hopeful, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. And that makes it more intriguing.
Rauf Aregbesola has called out Bola Tinubu and the state governor Adegboyega Oyetola. He revealed that he begged the governor for two years. He didn’t want his legacies shattered.
Now in order to push home his interest, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola has anointed Moshood Adeoti, who dumped the APC in 2018. He insisted that Oyetola must go. And the showdown has started.
What exactly Aregbesola wants remains unclear. Does he want to merely retaliate or become a godfather just like Bola Ahmed Tinubu?
The most painful aspect of it all is that Oyetola destroyed Aregbesola’s so-called legacies. He abolished his predecessor’s policy on education and cancelled so many programmes.
Aregbesola surely wants all the policies and programmes returned as matter of fact. He doesn’t want to lose our totally. Does that mean he will control Moshood Adeoti if he emerges?
Meanwhile, every political leader has right to choose from aspirants and candidates. But Aregbesola’s choice is obviously based on the need to have some power. He wants to ensure continuity in his policies. Would that make him a godfather?
