A PDP deputy governor has endorsed Vice President Osinbajo for the 2023 presidency. Mr. Philip Shuaibu, the Edo State deputy governor has given his endorsement to the vice president.
Mr. Yemi Osinbajo himself has not told Nigerians that he would like to lead them. But the handwriting is clear on the wall that he will be up for the 2023 presidency.
He has got several endorsements from both north and south of the country. Even a former military president, Ibrahim Babangida, has concluded to choose Osinbajo for the job.
The vice president was in Edo State yesterday for an event in honour of a minister in Buhari’s cabinet. And that was where the PDP deputy governor made the pronouncement for Osinbajo.
Mr. Phillip Shuaibu wanted to end godfathers in Nigerian politics. And he believes that Osinbajo would help to a bit end the domination of the godfathers.
He told Mr. Yemi Osinbajo, Your Excellency, just know that you have Edo, you have us, anything that you want to do, you have us and you have God.”
The PDP deputy governor didn’t mince any word. He was bold and he made the declaration in public during the occasion. He said that the people of Edo State would identify with Osinbajo.
He further stated, “And by the Grace of God, we will have our own as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria come 2023”.
The support came at a time the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki is still fighting the former Lagos State governor Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The APC national leader has shown interest in the job.
The PDP deputy governor, Shuaibu, had now endorsed VP Osinbajo for the 2023 presidency.
